The Farmingdale School District and the Wall of Fame Executive Committee will host a ceremony of induction in the lecture hall at Farmingdale High School next Thursday, May 9, beginning at 7 p.m.

The three individuals who will be inducted into Farmingdale's Wall of Fame are Peter J. Ganci Jr., Arthur E. Kranz and Frank A. Nocerino.

Ganci, the highest ranking officer with 34 years of service in the New York City Fire Department, lost his life on Sept. 11 while serving his country in the line of duty at the World Trade Center. Ganci is survived by his wife and three children. Chief Ganci will be remembered as a hero to his community and country. He is an alumnus of the Farmingdale High School class of 1964.

Kranz, a lifelong resident of Farmingdale, was a member of Farmingdale High School's class of 1939. According to the district, Kranz is a credit to his hometown. An enthusiastic volunteer, Boy Scout, Mason, Naval Veteran of WWII and volunteer fireman, Kranz is a newspaper columnist and an "unofficial" historian for the community. Kranz' contributions are memorable and all-encompassing. The district said that Kranz is the "Consummate Daler."

Nocerino, member of Farmingdale High School's class of 1970, is known throughout the community for his involvement in several local clubs and organizations. He is founder and president of Friends of Farmingdale Athletics and worked for over 30 years in the North Massapequa Fire Department and is ex-chief of the department. He will be sworn in as president of the Association of Fire Districts of New York State on May 6, being the first person in the history of the North Massapequa Fire Department to ascend to such a prestigious position. He is a husband and father of four. Nocerino was involved in World Trade Center operations and spearheaded "Farmingdale Unites," a community tribute to local heroes.

All residents are invited to join in the honoring of these three dedicated individuals who have devoted much of their time and energy to the communities within the Farmingdale School District. The induction ceremony will be followed by a reception.
