With the Town of Oyster Bay's recent measure to acquire an approximate 15 acres of the Liberty Superfund Site in Farmingdale, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced earlier this week that they will be implementing a full cleanup of the property, which includes the removal of all contaminated soils, so the site could be used for recreational purposes. With attendance estimates nearing 60,000 spectators, some residents have expressed concern regarding security and traffic issues on local roads. The biggest field to ever compete in a 15 Kilometer Run on Long Island crossed the finish line of the fifth annual Kings Park 15 Kilometer Challenge Run at the W.T. Rogers Middle School on Sunday morning, March 17. A strong contingent of Farmingdale runners were part of the total of 775 runners who made their way to the finish. FULL STORY

The Farmingdale Hawks will hold an additional football and cheerleading registration at Farmingdale High School on Thursday April 11 from 8 to 9 p.m. in the cafeteria for boys ages 5-14 and girls from 6-14.
