As a resident of the Incorporated Village of Farmingdale, I read with great interest your article on the Assembly Redistricting Plan (March 1) and was extremely disappointed to learn that Assemblyman Steve Labriola might not represent the residents of the village.
Over the years, I have personally contacted Assemblyman Labriola for assistance pertaining to a traffic safety matter and a health insurance situation. I can tell you firsthand that Assemblyman Labriola's office was the only office that was able to provide to me the kind of help that I needed when all other doors were closed. His office not only promptly responded to me but also followed up to be sure that the matters that I presented to him were resolved to my satisfaction. I have heard similar stories from other residents within my community. Many of us from the Village of Farmingdale have come to rely on Assemblyman Labriola's personal assistance in matters where all else fails.
Please count my family as one who will be very disappointed if the proposed redistricting plan comes to fruition and we find ourselves represented by a Suffolk County Assemblymember. Therefore, I strongly urge the powers that be to keep the logical lines of our 12th Assembly District within Nassau County and the Village of Farmingdale's representation with Assemblyman Labriola.
