Frank LiCausi, proprietor of the Farmingdale Music Center, was recently nominated by the Quality of Life Party to seek election as a village trustee.

Editor's Note: Mr. LiCausi is one of three candidates running for the village board. The Observer featured information on the other two candidates in a past issue.

"I am running for the village trustee position because I have lived in Farmingdale my entire life, love my village and want to serve my community. Quality of life issues for myself and my fellow residents have always been a driving force for me, and the motivating factor to run for this position," he said. "I am concerned about the overdevelopment and density issues, the requirements of which are clearly stated in our code books, yet often ignored in favor of contractors rather than the residents. I have been very instrumental in defeating developers who wanted to build to excess of three times the allotted density. I want to put my persistence and detail oriented skills to work for our community."

LiCausi and his wife Danielle live in the village with their son Jonathan and their two cats, Fluff and Suzie. Together they created and coordinated the successful Adopt-A-Tree-Well Project on Main Street and have both served as volunteers on the Farmingdale Beautification Committee for many years. They also serve as Den Leaders for the Boy Scouts of America.

The LiCausi family has resided in the Village of Farmingdale for nearly 80 years. Frank is a graduate of Farmingdale High School. Having lived in the area his entire life, he also owns and operates a business, the Farmingdale Music Center, on Main Street. Frank graduated valedictorian of his class at Five Towns College in 1977, with his degree in musical instrument technology.

Frank was awarded the distinguished alumni award in 1992 for his outstanding achievements in the field of music, education and business. He reminds residents that if they are not registered voters, they may register to vote in this election on Saturday, March 9 from noon to 5:30 p.m. at Farmingdale Village Hall. The polls will be open at Village Hall on March 19 from noon to 9 p.m.
