Runner's Edge proprietor Bob Cook will just have to get a bigger store.

Sam Zinn and Bob Cook prepare to welcome everyone to the 2002 Fun Run.

Unofficial estimates of just how many folks showed up at the Runner's Edge in Farmingdale on Sunday morning, Feb. 24 ranged between the low 200s to the low 300s. Whatever the correct number, it was easily the biggest Winter Fun Run in the 12 years that The Runner's Edge and the Greater Long Island Running Club have been co-hosting the event, a credit to Bob Cook and GLIRC's Sam Zinn for making the Long Island running community feel most welcome in Farmingdale every MARCH.

The weather was picture perfect, Round Swamp Road is a great venue for a morning run, there were plenty of bagels and coffee waiting for everyone when they got back from their run, and Bob offered almost unbelievable bargains on shoes and every item of winter apparel in the store!
