Three local residents will be vying for two open seats on the Incorporated Village of Farmingdale Board of Trustees on Election Day, Tuesday, March 19. Two incumbents, Marialyce Denauski and Dr. Benjamin Giminaro, as well as resident Frank LiCausi, are running for the positions.

Farmingdale Village Trustees Dr. Benjamin Giminaro and Marialyce Denauski were recently nominated by the Village Restoration Party to seek re-election as trustees. Dr. Giminaro has served the village in that capacity for more than a decade, and as deputy mayor since 1996. Denauski has served as village trustee for the past seven years.
An active member of a myriad of local organizations, Denauski was born and reared in Farmingdale during the early years. She returned to Farmingdale in 1985 with her husband Carl where they are together raising their children, Spencer, Terrence and Alanna. They are parishioners at St. Kilian Church.
Before her election to the Farmingdale Village Board, Denauski served on the Village's Zoning Board of Appeals from 1992 to 1996. She is currently a board member of both the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce and the Farmingdale Rotary and an executive member of the Nassau County Village Officials Association, an organization serving the 64 villages of Nassau County. A member of the Northside, Howitt and Farmingdale High School PTAs, Denauski also serves on the board of Farmingdale Care, the school district's before and after school day care program. She has been an active member of the Junior League of the Women's Club of Farmingdale since 1989, serving as president from 1994-96. She has also been NY State Federation of Women's Club's Second District Junior Director from 1995-99 and currently serves as NY State Director of Junior Clubs.
Armed with a BA in Economics from Fordham University, Denauski is a member of the Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women and manages her own copywriting business.
Dr. Giminaro was born and grew up in Farmingdale where he and his wife Nancy raised three sons. A general medical practitioner for many years, he is credited with starting the "On Campus Health Service" at SUNY Farmingdale, where he served as the primary physician on campus. He was also physician to the Farmingdale public schools.
Before becoming trustee, Dr. Giminaro served as chairman of the Farmingdale Zoning Board of Appeals and on the Board of Ethics for the Town of Oyster Bay. He is currently president of the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society and past president and member of the Farmingdale Rotary Club. Dr. Giminaro has been bestowed with the Jenkins Award from the Farmingdale PTAs, making him a lifetime member of the organization. A Boy Scout Master for Troops 514 and 261, Dr. Giminaro has received the District Boy Scout Award and has been inducted into the Sagamore Troop, a Boy Scout Leadership Group. He is a parishioner at St. Kilian Church.
Election Day is Tuesday, March 19. The polls will be open at Farmingdale Village Hall at 361 Main Street from noon to 9 p.m.
