For the past year and a half, my family and the neighbors on Conklin Street have endured the problems of a group of revelers, who illegally rented and over crowded a house in close proximity to my residence and business. We were regularly awoken in the middle of the night to young men reving their motorcycles and racing them up and down Conklin Street, sometimes on the sidewalks. These people also had five dogs that they would let run around the neighborhood. They were repeatedly warned to properly leash their dogs. One beautiful husky was ultimately killed due to their negligence. Another dog was seriously injured when the dogs were unleashed and they twice ran into oncoming traffic on Conklin Street.
They would also have parties until 6 a.m. (which I was not invited to, but was up for).
Nassau County Police were frequently called by neighbors and asked to intervene with this situation, but they reported that there was little they could do.
The Village [of Farmingdale] intervened when they received numerous complaints from neighbors and were able to persuade the tenants to relocate.
One up for the good guys!
