Concerned Citizens Association of Farmingdale (CCAF) wishes to extend a big thank you to the residents of Farmingdale and Massapequa who took time out of their busy lives to come to the final EPA Public Meeting on Jan. 9 at the Farmingdale Public Library. We had 300 people attend this important meeting, with quite a few speaking publicly. We hope that this duly impacted the EPA to come to a final decision in favor of an SL3 cleanup, which would remove all contaminants from the site.

We also applaud all our local politicians, John Venditto, Tony Macagnone, Sal Pontillo and all the others who took the time to come and support us in this cause. Their presence at the meeting showed all concerned, that they are solidly behind the citizens they represent.

Last but not least, CCAF is indebted to the Farmingdale Observer and its editor, Marta Kane, for always supporting our efforts and keeping the public informed of the events in Farmingdale. Without their help we would be unable to spread the word. Thank you for all your help.

CCAF cordially invites all residents of Farmingdale to our next meeting on Jan. 22 at the Farmingdale Public Library. Our next meetings after that will be Feb. 26 and March 26 at Woodward Parkway School. Come add your voice to ours and together we will improve the quality of life for Farmingdale. If you need further information, please visit our website www.fdale.com/ccaf or call Michael at 249-2106.
