Following much investigating, Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County Police Department have declared that the fire which broke out at the Liberty Site a couple of weeks ago is a case of arson. They are seeking the public's help for information in connection with the fire.

On the morning of Dec. 14, a fire occurred at North East Imports, also known as "NEI," which was occupying one of the buildings at the Liberty Site at 55 Motor Avenue in South Farmingdale. The fire was of such magnitude that it caused substantial damage to the warehouse and to an adjoining warehouse used by a company called "ADA Auto Parts." The arson investigators are aware that there are persons who may have further information regarding this fire and the Nassau County Fire Marshal and Police Department Arson Investigators are asking anyone with any information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the fire at the Liberty Site. All calls to the toll-free number remain confidential and callers will not have to testify in court. Crime Stoppers also alerts residents that they do not have to reveal their identities to help solve this crime.
