Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto recently announced that the town's website has a new address, www.oysterbaytown.com.

"The town's official website address was recently changed to www.oysterbaytown.com," Venditto stated. "We made the switch when we changed our web host. The new, shorter address will make it easier for people to find us on the Internet.

Those who have visited our website already know the wealth of information that's available," the supervisor continued. "Along with a history of the town, biographical information on town officials and descriptions of the various departments, programs and services, the site contains a list of meetings of the Town Board , the Zoning Board Of Appeals, the Planning Advisory Board and the Landmarks Preservation Commission, as well as special meetings concerning various issues. There are also copies of the town's latest press releases, so residents can stay informed about what is going on in the town. Most importantly, residents can e-mail me or another town official directly from the website.

"The potential of the Internet to make government more accessible and efficient is tremendous," Venditto concluded. "I urge everyone to visit the website. And, please don't hesitate to e-mail me, or any other town official if you have any questions, suggestions or comments about your town government."

The supervisor noted that the town's new web host, Govoffice.com was launched through a partnership with Microsoft, the International City-County Management Association and numerous state municipal leagues to provide affordable, state-of-the-art Internet systems to local governments of all sizes.
