The new emergency room will accommodate a significant increase in patient visits while reducing waiting and treatment time. There is a "fast track" area for minor injuries and dedicated examination rooms for pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology. The emergency room also has a dedicated radiology area where film is digitally processed and patients no longer have to be transported to the radiology department for routine x-rays. There is also a distinct cardiac treatment area that will permit rapid diagnosis of heart related conditions.
The Surgical Suite has been increased from four operating rooms to a seven-room operating suite and includes specialized orthopedic rooms. In addition, the recovery room has been expanded in size and number from eight to 10 patient observation areas, designed around a central nurse's station for ease in monitoring.
The Ambulatory Surgery Center has been doubled in size to meet the increasing demand for outpatient services, with a range of the newest developments in same-day surgical procedures. There are now 16 patient observation areas and a comfortable waiting area for family members.
The 36 new medical/surgical rooms incorporate the latest in medical technology, as well as innovative capabilities to enhance patient care. There are also new, comfortable waiting areas designed to accommodate family and friends.
Endoscopy Suites - There are now five rooms with enhanced endoscopy equipment and the suites include a specialized room for patients with airborne illnesses.
