The Farmingdale Golden Goals U-12 Girls team got off to a great start this fall in the LIJSL. After starting the season with three straight wins, they played a State Cup game against a White Plains team that had knocked them out of the cup last year. It was a different story this year as they defeated White Plains 4-0. The LIJSL took a Columbus weekend break but the girls entered the Northport-Cow Harbor Columbus Weekend Tournament, which they came in first place last year.
The defending champions repeated again this year playing inspired soccer and in which they were unscored upon for the whole tournament. This is due in large part to the addition of new goalkeeper extraordinaire Jessica Wadsworth and ace defender/forward Jamie Disilvio. The other outstanding veteran players that make up this championship team are Nicole Conway, Emily Fugarazzo, Whitney Hronec, Alyssa Kildare, Brittany Kohlmann, Brittany Mallahy, Alyssa Mercante, Amanda Pratt, Katie Rocks, Leigha Snider, Nicole Sottile, Alyssa Tyson and Ashley Vitale.
Coaches Shawn Kildare, Chris Tyson and Tim Rocks couldn't be happier with the fact that the team, this season, has scored 28 goals while giving up only two in a total of nine games. Many thanks go out to their great sponsor, Farmingdale Physical Therapy and to the dedication and support of the girls' wonderful parents. Go Golden Goals!
