Village Sells Flags to Raise Funds for Gazebo
Since February, members of the Farmingdale Village Green Gazebo Bandstand Committee and the staff at the Farmingdale Village Clerk's office have been raising funds in an effort to provide enough money for a new gazebo bandstand to be built on Farmingdale Village Green, just outside of Village Hall on Main Street. To date, the committee and staff have enjoyed great success in their efforts through various fundraisers.

Columbus Lodge Slay Knights in Season Finale
In their season finale, the Sons of Italy-Columbus Lodge #2143 Golden Lions scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to slay the Knights, 4-3 at Cedar Creek in Seaford. The win completed a successful weekend in which the Golden Lions took a pair of games the day before and completed the season having won their final three games.

High School Football Games Debut on Internet
Sports Radio Network (WSRN) has announced that they will be adding the High School Football Game of the Week to its fall schedule. The upcoming schedule will feature teams from Section VIII in Nassau County. The Internet-based station will debut The Game of the Week on Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. with a rematch of the 2000 Nassau County Conference I Championship Game pitting Farmingdale and Freeport.
