Bethpage Cemetery Cleanup Progresses
After a local boy scout looking to receive his eagle scout ranking cleaned up portions of the Bethpage Cemetery last summer, the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society (FBHS) has been making efforts to continue the much needed restoration of the grounds. The cemetery has suffered much wear from the environment and lack of care. In recent months, members of FBHS have made many efforts to continue the cleanup process.

The North Massapequa Fire Department will host the Annual 6th Battalion Parade and Drill Sept. 15, in honor of Ex-Chief and Commissioner Frank A. Nocerino, who was recently elected to the prestigious office of chairman of the Nassau County Fire Commission.

Marlins Reel in Boys Juniors World Series Title
The Marlins defeated the A's 8-4 to win the Boys Juniors Farmingdale Baseball World Series Title. The boys were led by the dominating pitching of Thomas Romano and the power hitting of Ryan Boyle and Nick Costandy.

Farmingdale D Team Takes First in Its Division
The Farmingdale 13-year-old Babe Ruth team won the Eastern Division and made it to the final four in the playoffs. This team was assembled at the last minute with a managerial change a week before the first game and never had a practice together. Even with no practices they still came out with their bats blazing and beat the Huntington Saints, 16-0, in the season opener.
