Farmingdale resident Beth Loschin and her Hampton Bays boyfriend James Warren were arrested on Aug. 10 for allegedly kidnapping a 15-year-old. According to police, the victim, a resident of Wrentham, Massachusetts, met Warren in an AOL chatroom and agreed to meet him at a local mall. Warren and Loschin drove to Wrentham, met the girl at the store she works at in the mall, and took her in their car, proceeding to New York.

At a press conference held on Aug. 14, Detective Robert Robustelli of the 8th Squad explained that approximately two months ago, the girl met 41-year-old Warren in the chat room and "discussed the subject of sex and meeting." On Aug. 13, Warren took the victim into a car that 46-year-old Loschin was driving. The girl was allegedly taken into the back seat, handcuffed and abused.

During her time with Warren and Loschin, the girl was allegedly abused continuously, in Loschin's Farmingdale home, at Warren's home in Hampton Bays and at two out of state hotels. The couple also allegedly dropped the girl off at the house of Michael Montez, a resident of Astoria, where she was also abused.

According to Robustelli, the girl was able to locate her cell phone on Friday, Aug. 10, one week after being kidnapped by the couple, when they left her unsupervised. She made a call to the Wrentham police, since she didn't know where she was, and the officer on the phone assisted her in finding a piece of mail in the house so they could determine her location. Once she found some mail, the officer then contacted the Nassau County Police Department who immediately went to the house.

Warren and Loschin were charged with numerous felonies, including kidnapping, rape, sodomy and first degree sexual abuse.

Robustelli said that the girl was living with both parents in Wrentham, and it is believed that she was having family problems at home. They did not know why she agreed to, at first, willingly go with Warren, but explained that although she went willingly at first, she soon resisted the couple.

According to police, Loschin, an unemployed accountant, has no prior convictions. Warren was arrested out of state several years ago and served three out of a five year sentence for "risk of injury to a child."

Robustelli added that the victim's parents did file a missing persons report in Wrentham, and that she had been reported missing in the area in the past. When police arrived at the house, she was taken to the Nassau University Medical Center where she was treated and released. Police are still uncertain as to why she wanted to meet with Warren.

"She willingly reached out to these people," Robustelli said, "agreed to have a meeting with these people and later didn't know what she was getting into with this character."
