Board of Education Says Goodbye to Dr. Saxton
Dr. Dolores Saxton has retired from the Farmingdale School District Board of Education after a three year tenure as a trustee and active member. In her three years on the board, Dr. Saxton said one of her major accomplishments while serving was bringing an awareness of educational programs to the table.

St. Kilian Players Present Camelot, Opening This Weekend
The St. Kilian Players will be presenting their 14th annual summer show this and next weekend at the parish's auditorium. This year's production, Camelot, will feature over 100 volunteers who have been hard at work for the past few months creating the story of King Arthur, to be played by Rob Hoerburger, and his round table.

SFFD Celebrates 40th Anniversary, Parade and Block Party a Success
The South Farmingdale Fire Department recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with a parade and block party the weekend of July 20,21 and 22. Among the festivities available to celebrating residents and their families were food, rides, games and a spectacular fireworks show which took place at Allen Park.

Ronald McDonald House Real Winner at Sports Festival
On June 16, the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island ("RMHLI") held its seventh Annual Business Cares for Kids Sports Festival" at Cantiague Park in Hicksville and raised over $90,000 in net proceeds. According to Festival Chairman Andy Laufer, (a partner with the accounting firm of Landau, Arnold, Fusco and Laufer), the event gets larger each year.

Farmingdale Hosts Vytra Women's Health Run
Nearly 500 women participated in the July 14 edition of the Vytra Women's 5 Kilometer Health Run in Farmingdale. This year marked the 18th year of the run, part of the KeySpan Grand Prix of Long Island road races, which benefits local charities.
