On July 15, the Farmingdale Soccer Club hosted a soccer festival at Howitt Middle School, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for children from kindergarten through sixth grade. This event was sponsored by Stop & Shop.

There were at least 36 teams which participated in the various age brackets with teams playing between two and three games each. The weather cooperated, which made the day an even greater success.

The Farmingdale Soccer Club used this event to host its annual Trophy Day and supplied various games and events for the children. There were vendors both for food and soccer items who also helped in making the day successful. It is estimated that between 700 to 1,000 people were present at the festival during the day.

Thanks should go the Farmingdale Soccer Club, its board of directors, the committee that handled all the arrangements and festivities and the numerous volunteers that made the day so successful. It was nice to see so many children having fun together. The Soccer Club hopes to offer a similar event next year.
