I wish to thank Mayor Joseph Trudden for his suggestion (June 29 The Public Must Be Heard) that solutions to the day laborer crises be offered for review by the board. The solution that seems to work is to follow the innovative Glen Cove model that Mayor Thomas Suozzi worked out with his divergent groups.

I also agree with Mayor Trudden that all the public must be heard on this important issue of human rights for Hispanic workers. Due notice is essential to all groups if we are to truly practice (and not just preach) our democratic heritage. Along with many other concerned citizens, I have attended previous board meetings on this issue. With Mayor Trudden's personal invitation, he can be assured that I will make every effort to attend the next session.

I also thank him for assuring that all sides will be given a fair and impartial hearing.
