Charity Softball Begins for Columbus Lodge
Giving back to their community, Columbus Lodge #2143 Golden Lions began a month of softball fund-raising events with an impressive showing at the "4th Annual Sons of Italy Softball Tournament," held for the benefit of the Arthritis Foundation of Long Island. The June 9 event saw the Golden Lions impressively reach the finals before losing to the team from the accounting firm of KPMG.

Successful Season for Wizards
The Farmingdale Wizards enjoyed a successful 2001 spring season. These 12-year-old boys, led by coaches Oscar Salguero and Bill Horn, came together as a team to post a record of 6-2-1. The team also had a successful run in the Waldbaums Cup where four consecutive wins earned them a spot in the semifinals played at Mitchel Field in Uniondale.
