On Saturday, May 12, the Farmingdale boys lacrosse team defeated Hicksville 10-9. This was a milestone event for Farmingdale as Coach Bob Hartranft won his 500th lacrosse game, making him the winningest coach in the history of Nassau County lacrosse.

Hartranft's 500 wins also made him the third winningest high school lacrosse coach (active and inactive) in New York State.
In addition, Coach Hartranft has been named Nassau County Coach of the Year four times, Conference I-A Coach of the Year 10 times and was inducted into the Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1992.
Coach Hartranft was head coach of the United States World Lacrosse Team in 1992 which won the gold medal. He has won 19 Conference I titles, eight Nassau County championships, one Long Island championship and the NYS finals three times. In addition, he was named Nassau County Sports Commission Male Coach of the Year in 1998.
Hartranft has been head coach for Farmingdale for 32 years. His other experiences include coaching boys junior high basketball for 27 years and boys junior high soccer for 12 years.
