Organizers of the Nick Katsounis Memorial Wheelchair Championship Race, to be held on Sunday, June 24, were recently presented with a sponsorship check from j.bussani,inc., the distributor of wheelchair accessible vehicles located on Central Avenue in Bethpage.

"John Bussani is one of Long Island's leading suppliers of vans and other vehicles for the disabled and we are quite pleased at his generosity and support for this very emotional event," noted Geraldine Walsh, who will be serving as the director of this year's race. "His help will be instrumental in preserving the memory of Nick Katsounis, the race's founder, and in assuring the success of this year's race. We thank j.bussani, inc. and John personally for their generosity."

Nick Katsounis, who had been the founder and director of the Wheelchair Championship Race, passed away suddenly in January of this year. With the help of wonderful people like John Bussani, the race - renamed in his memory - will continue to be one of the biggest and best races in the world for wheelchair athletes. The race is conducted under the joint auspices of the Town of Oyster Bay and the Greater Long Island Running Club.
