On Monday, April 2, the Sonics defeated the Spurs 33-19 to capture the sixth grade PAL basketball championship. The victory concluded an undefeated season with a record of 12-0. In the playoffs, the Sonics pressure defense produced numerous easy baskets which resulted in 3 wins over the Warriors, Kings and Spurs. In the semifinal and final wins the Sonics were led by Thomas and Rich Sacco with 10 points. Louis Alimo hit a key corner jump shot with 40 seconds remaining to secure the semifinal victory.

During the season the Sonics received timely shooting and tough defense from John Quinn, hot shooting from Chris Alfieri, great defense and timely shooting from Shawn Watro and great defense from Wayne Lustberg and Paul Sharin.

The consistent all-around play of Thomas Romano, Tim Hart and Rich Sacco were key in numerous comeback wins during the season.

Coaches Bob Romano and Rich Sacco would like to thank all of the parents for all their support during the season.
