It was my pleasure to watch you marching in the parade yesterday. You all looked so happy and healthy and glad to hold membership as Farmingdale Baseball players. I followed you into Allen Park to listen to the speakers who took time to place importance to the occasion.
The opening prayer, to bless the players, benefactors, etc, by Father Gerard was truly inspirational; too bad your parents didn't tell you to remove your caps, bow your heads and be silent. How would you know if you weren't told to do so.
The beautiful presentation on a trumpet solo of Taps to remember those who have served the community and died, was another one of those times when you weren't informed of the proper way to respond.
The national anthem also played on with many of you and your dad's hats firmly planted on your heads, mouths in full working order and no respect to our beautiful, free country, of any sort, was in evidence.
Children of Farmingdale, show some respect to God, country and each other before it's too late. If you don't know the proper way to respond, ask someone who treats you with honor.
