The Opening Day Parade is set for April 22 in celebration of the beginning of the 2001 season. Players, managers and coaches will be marching down Main Street to Allen Park. Joining the 1,000 players will be marching bands and bagpipers, apparatus from the local volunteer fire departments, local dignitaries and some surprises. The parade will start on April 22 at 2 p.m. and then proceed on Conklin Street (West), turn left onto Main Street (South), crossing over 109 and then turn right on Motor Avenue (West) and end in Allen Park. The balloon launch and tradition singing of Take me Out to the Ball Game will mark the official start of the 50th season. Please come out and support the marchers.
