Interment of ashes will take place at a future date at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village. Edward M. Bedrick Jr., of Copiague, died on March 26, 2001. Husband of JoAnne. Father and father-in-law of Edward and Chris, Robert, Patti, Keahty and Darrin Conlon. Grandfather of George, Bronwyn, Michael, Christina, Jacqueline and Christopher. Pabst, 69, former longtime resident of Farmingdale, died on March 28, 2001 at his home in Bridgton, ME. Gil was born Sept. 2, 1931 in Brooklyn, the son of the late Gilbert and Elsa Pabst. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School and Polytechnic University of Brooklyn. On Oct. 6, 1956, he married Cynthia Holmes. Gil was employed for many years as an electrical salesman for Schwing Electrical Supply Company and retired in 1999 after a short employment career at Metropolitan Electrical Company of Amityville. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Bethpage Masonic Lodge #975, past president and Paul Harris Fellow of the Farmingdale Rotary Club and member, church counselman and youth advisor at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Husband of 44 years of Cynthia. Father and father-in-law of Cindy and George Arnold of Marlton, NJ, Krista and Richard Waters of Kings Park and Gilbert and Lillian Pabst of Bethpage. George J. Carroll, 53, died on March 29, 2001, after a courageous seven-year struggle with diabetes. He was born on Aug. 16, 1947 in Astoria, Queens, a son of George A. Carroll of Bethpage and the late Elizabeth (Reilly) Carroll. He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia D. Dittmeier. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on Sept. 5. He was a 1965 graduate of Plainedge High School and in 1966 he received a degree from Adelphi Business School.

Mr. Carroll was employed as a postal clerk for nearly 25 years at the Farmingdale Post Office before retiring in 1994. He was also a licensed real estate agent in Farmingdale. He was a member of St. George Mission Church, Mifflinburg, PA. He was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council, Milton Lodge #4824; was a charter member of the Mifflinburg Historical Society, a member of the Postmasters General Club, former member of St. Kilian's Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Farmingdale and a member of St. Vincent dePaul Society. His interests included reading, traveling and following football, regardless of the team.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and father, are two daughters and a son-in-law, Cortney M. Dressier of Selinsgrove and Allison J. and Travis Maurer of Mifflinburg; one son, Andrew J. Carroll of Mifflinburg; one grandson, Michael Carroll; and one brother, Charles Carroll of Olthe, KS. Arrangements were made by the Gary H. Cronrath Funeral Home, Lewisburg, PA. Knights of Columbus service. Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Mission Church with the Rev. Patrick J. Shannon officiating. Burial Hillitop Cemetery.

James V. Grady, of Farmingdale, died on March 29, 2001. Father of James W., David B., Joseph P. (Kathleen). Grandpa of Staci Ann (Rafeal) and Joseph. Great-grandpa of Isabelle.
