The last two of the four elementary schools in Farmingdale recently celebrated the expansion of their buildings to accommodate full day kindergarten which will begin in the district in September.

Budget Overview Presented for Farmingdale Schools
An overview of the budget for the Farmingdale School District for the 2001-2002 school year was presented for the first time at a special budget meeting of the board of education on Wednesday, March 14. This was the first of several upcoming meetings and hearings regarding the proposed budget.

Cavaliers Regular Season Champions
The third grade Cavaliers of the Farmingdale PAL Basketball League completed their regular season in first place in the Eastern Division. The Cavaliers compiled a 9-1 record, which has earned them a number one seed in the upcoming playoffs. Four very talented boys; Andrew Erker, Brian Gallagher, Joe Kennedy and Billy Warren led the team in all facets of the game. On any given day one of these ballplayers provided the spark to lead the team to victory. Nick Casio, Danny Kane, Nicholas Backman, Johnny Kellerman and Stephanie Rice were also key components in the teams' success. The coaches Gene Gallagher and Bruce Warren would like to thank the parents for their support during the regular season.

Farmingdale Hawks Football and Cheerleading Registration
The Farmingdale Midget Football Association is having its annual registration at Howitt Middle School's cafeteria on Friday, March 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Football will be signing up ages 5 to 14 and cheerleading will be signing up ages 6 to 14. These will be the only official registration dates this year so those interested are urged to sign up now and avoid a late registration fee.
