On Sunday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m., I was at my second stop on my rounds as a Eucharist Minister when I witnessed a most impressive event of community service. The East Farmingdale Fire Department EMT Team and a Suffolk County Police Officer were at the door of an elderly couple in less than five minutes in response to a bleeding emergency. Of course this efficiency, concern and compassion may be considered just "daily routine stuff," however I just could not resist writing these few lines to express publicly my heartfelt thanks to these beautiful people who responded so quickly to assist my friends.
