The New York Jewish Sports Hall of Fame recently announced the recipients of the Jules D. Mazor Award for the Outstanding Jewish High School Athletes of the Year. Among the winners was Bethpage High School senior Sarah Lowenthal.

Lowenthal has been a member of the Bethpage Varsity Gymnastics team since eighth grade, and has been All-County, All-Conference, All-State, All-American and number one All-Around in the country. She has been All-County in all four events each year since she has been on the team and was the recipient of the highest scoring all-around at the 2000 team championships from the Nassau County Coaches Association.

The Mazor Awards will be presented at the Ninth Annual New York Jewish Sports Hall of Fame inductions on Sunday, March 25 at the Suffolk Y JCC, beginning at 10 a.m.
