Second Meeting Held on Full Day Kindergarten
Members of the Farmingdale Board of Education and the full day kindergarten committee held their second meeting to discuss the full day program last Wednesday, Jan. 24 at the Howitt Middle School auditorium. During the meeting, parents and those in attendance learned of the various objectives and what a typical day would be like for the children who enroll in the program starting in September.

Police Officer from Farmingdale Arrested
Last Wednesday, Jan. 24, the Nassau County Police Department Internal Affairs Unit in conjunction with the Nassau County District Attorney's Office arrested a 36-year-old Nassau County police officer on charges of first degree sodomy that allegedly occurred in December of 1999.

Farmingdale Thunderbolts in East Meadow/Refuel Tournament
The Farmingdale Thunderbolts competed in the East Meadow/Refuel Labor Day tournament this past August at the Soccer Park in Plainview. The boys began their initial travel season by taking first place at this respected tournament competing against teams from throughout Long Island. The team, shown with their championship trophies are: (front row) Phil Sanabria, Vinnie Valinoti, Dylan Burtis, Stephen Posa, Matt Santopietro, Joe Giordano, Eric Grossmann, (second row) David Neuburger, Ryan Stone, Matt Labriola, Tom Bronsan, Joe Lauterborn, Ryan Slane, Danny Burnett, (third row) Coach Stephen Posa, Bob Zebrowski, East Meadow Soccer Club Boys Division Coordinator, member of the East Meadow Soccer Club, and Coach Jim Neuburger. Missing from the photo is Coach Paul Labriola. The coaches trophy, held by Jim Neuburger, is on display at the Farmingdale Soccer Club offices at 700 Main Street.

NY Jewish Sport Hall of Fame Announces HS Athletes of the Year
The New York Jewish Sports Hall of Fame recently announced the recipients of the Jules D. Mazor Award for the Outstanding Jewish High School Athletes of the Year. Among the winners was Bethpage High School senior Sarah Lowenthal.
