Farmingdale High School senior Brian Joyce will be playing in the fifth annual All-Star Vytra Cup Hockey Tournament on Jan. 27.

Joyce will be a star defenseman for the Nassau team. All players participating in the Vytra Cup Tournament were selected by the High School Hockey League Association of Nassau County and the Suffolk County High School Hockey League, and include students from every member school within the leagues.
This year, Vytra is teaming up with the Long Island Crisis Center, the region's oldest hotline service, to promote teen health and suicide awareness in conjunction with the Vytra Cup. Representatives from the center will be at the Coliseum distributing teen-related materials and selling raffles for official Islanders' merchandise, and Vytra is making a donation to the Crisis Center to support its efforts. In addition, the Islanders have donated four tickets to an Islanders/Devils game, an autographed team jersey and hockey stick, and a block of 25 tickets to an Islanders home game to help benefit the center.
The tournament kicks off Vytra's yearlong commitment to community sporting events sponsorship. In addition to hockey, Vytra also sponsors soccer, tennis and running events throughout the year. This year, they will be sponsoring over 150 community events, involving 150,000 families on Long Island.
Tickets for the Vytra Cup are $2.00. To purchase tickets or for more information, contact the Vytra Cup hotline at 832-4212.
