Among the highlights of the Dec. 19 general meeting of the Greater Long Island Running Club was the presentation of a Club Special Service Award for 2000 to Jeff and Mary Anne Goldman of Farmingdale.

According to the Club, the Goldmans are the kind of people that give back time after time to the club and to the Long Island community, by helping out with mailing or volunteering at most of the club's races. They are always there wherever and whenever they are needed, and Mary Anne Goldman even helps out with cleaning the club office.
