Farmingdale's Metro Stars completed their undefeated season with a 2-1 score in the championship game.

The Metro Stars led by Rafael Martinez, Eric Martello, Kenny Rogers, and Andrew Erker averaged over five goals a game throughout the season. Kovler's Fireballs were able to hold this high powered offense in check after a Martello goal off a corner kick in the initial period. Tommy Esposito tied the game in the second quarter when he scored after a diving save by Mike Zebro.
Martinez, who led the league in scoring, was the recipient of several fast breaks when the defense led by Billy Warren, Adam Schneiderman, John Rugolo, Nicholas Bredlow, Glenn Kohlmann, James Donaldson, and James Holman were able to reverse the ball. Steve Kayola, goalie for the Fireballs, made save after save while in net to keep them in the game. The game went into double overtime where both teams had good scoring opportunities but were unable to convert a winning goal.
Warren went into goal for the Metro Stars during the shoot-out. He and his counterpart allowed only 2 goals in five attempts. The second shoot-out period was a sudden death finish. Warren knocked the Fireball's first attempt to the side, and Erker stepped up and put the game away by scoring the winning goal by driving the ball into the lower right hand corner. Absent from the victorious team were Nicholas Commolly and Chris Romeo.
Coaches Raphael Martinez and Vinnie Martello would like to thank the parents for their cooperation and support throughout this championship season.
