I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the residents of the eighth senatorial district for their vote of confidence in re-electing me to the New York State Senate. This past year, together we made significant strides in improving our communities, making college more accessible and affordable, reducing the cost of prescription drugs for seniors and providing, once again, record aid increases in education. But more needs to be done.

I look forward to the 2001 legislative session and continuing to work together with the residents of the district.
