Therese M. Ogno, 74, died on Nov. 2, 2000 at her residence in Cobleskill following a long illness.
Mrs. Ogno was born May 23, 1926 in Brooklyn, the daughter of William F. and Marguerite (Fowler) Mantell.
Mrs. Ogno was a graduate of St. Brendans High School. She married Dante R. Ogno on July 20, 1946 in Brooklyn. For 10 years, Mrs. Ogno taught religious education for deaf children. She was a member of the Long Island Theater for the deaf for 5 years. In 1959, Mrs. Ogno moved from Brooklyn to Farmingdale. She became a resident of Summit in 1989. While living in this area, she taught a sign language mini course for two years at the State University of New York in Cobleskill.
Mrs. Ogno was a communicant of St. Anna's Catholic Church of Summit. She was a charter member of the Sons of Italy.
Survivors include her husband, Dante R. Ogno; two daughters - Corann B. Bigelow of Hood River and Jacqueline P. Miraglia of Farmingville; two sons - Jeffrey S. Ogno of Pooler, GA and Martin A. Ogno of Simpsonville, NY; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery.
