The Farmingdale Vipers U15 Boys Travel Soccer team extended their unbeaten streak to 6 wins 0 losses in Division 6 League play by beating the West Babylon Eagles 5-4 last Sunday. Playing in the cold and snow, the Vipers came from behind several times to secure the win and remain in first place.
As with the previous five games, this team saw everyone contribute led by outstanding goal tending by Greg Rose and strong defensive efforts by Sam Nassetta, Robert Marino, Shazad Ali, John Schellhorn, and Keith Meilink. The midfield was controlled by Rich Cassar, John Caceres, Vinnie Shenocker and Stephen Marcus who also contributed to scoring a decisive penalty shot. The offensive line led by Chris Sweeney with two goals, Brian Campbell and Brian Cody with one goal each and strong efforts by Michael Eckert and Tom Rogers made this a total team effort.
The Vipers still must get past the Terryville RoughRiders and the Mineola Red Heat to capture the first place trophy, but their team tenacity has shown that they have the spirit and drive to make it happen. Their season has been magical to date and the coaches and parents congratulate each of them on their winning ways. Go Vipers!
