It was a cool, crisp day when the Farmingdale Hawks 10-year-old team improved its record to 3-1 this week against the Elmont Cardinals with a score of 19-12.

The offense was strong with Dave Critelli as quarterback and the powerful line of John Ninivaggi, Justin Bernardino, Mike Ragno, Austin Restaino, Dante Fiorerosso, Joe Licata and Conor Jones. This enabled Michael Lagalante the opportunity to break through and score three touchdowns Tashawn Arthur, Joe Ward and Michael Lagalante showed great effort in running the ball throughout the game and Tashawn ran in for the extra point scored.

On defense, Matt Flapan made an awesome interception which led to one of the touchdowns and Critelli recovered a fumble for another turnover. Great defensive tackles were made by Cory Gottleib, Danny Garces, Derrick Zeigler and Matt Flapan. Also helping hold the Cardinals back were Joe Ward, John Bosse, Brian Hope, Frank Fanelli, Billy Lee, and Travis McGowan. And John Ninivaggi showed an excellent kicking effort on special teams. The Hawks' next game will be on Oct. 15. against the Mineola Chiefs at Howitt.
