Elsie M. Hicks of Bethpage (formerly of Hewlett and Cutchogue) died on Oct. 1 at the age of 89. Predeceased in 1974 by her husband, W. Spencer Hicks. Mother of William S. Viola T. Duffy died on Sept. 29 at the age of 85 at Huntington Hospital. Ms. Duffy served in various positions during her 52-year career at Bellevue Hospital, New York City. Ms. Duffy was born on the lower east side of Manhattan and always considered New York City her home. Her final residence was at the Atria Assisted Living Home in Huntington Station, so her last days would be near her family. She leaves behind a loving sister in law and many loving nieces and nephews. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., Bethpage.
