The Farmingdale Adult Day Care Center hosted their second "new to you" fashion show last weekend at the United Methodist Church on Main Street in Farmingdale. Proceeds from the show went toward new carpeting for the day care center.

The center provided brunch and beverages for all guests in attendance and gave away various door prizes during the course of the event. Church members raffled off many prizes including wreaths and cookbooks. The fashion show began at 11 a.m., where local residents, day care participants and members of the clergy dressed up in the clothing being sold and walked around the room displaying the merchandise.

All the clothing, donated by the "new to you shoppe" in Farmingdale and also privately given from friends, was on sale for as little at $5 to $20. Some of the clothing was brand new with original store tags still secure on the garments.

Attendants had their choices of morning, afternoon, and evening fashions to bid on, ranging from everyday walking suits to fancy ball gowns. They could also bid on authentic fur coats, faux fur jackets, jumpers and short sets.

Assemblyman Steve Labriola came down to the event to talk to residents and show his support. He took turns sitting at tables with all those in attendance, discussing whatever issues they wanted to address.

All the payments received for the clothing from the fashion show went directly into the carpet fund for the adult day care center at the church.
