Exploring Farmingdale History
Farmingdale's Village Historians offered a walking tour through the village for Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society members last Sunday. The tour, designed to give insight as to how the village has changed and evolved since its founding almost a century ago in 1904, included portions of the central areas of the village as well as some of the homes that were recently entered into the Town Historic Plaque Program. Despite the threatening weather, 18 local residents arrived prepared for the walk.

Farmingdale Federation of Teachers Launches Web Site
The Farmingdale Federation of Teachers (FFT) recently announced that their new website has been completed and is now available to local parents, teachers, and students. The web site provides a variety of links to programs, including a cyberspace tutor and help with preparing children to understand the new tougher state standards.

Over the Hill Gang Report
Last Friday night was a grand night for the Over the Hill Gang charity tournament for Cerebral Palsy in the memory of Kenny Reynolds. We were fortunate to have fellow Farmingdaler Rob Bartlett, who took time out from his busy schedule to add his quick wit and humor as our master of ceremonies. Bartlett found special delight in wheeling his good buddy Tommy Hacket on the field to throw out the first ball.
