It's now time to register yourself or your team for Cancer Care of Long Island's Third Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Walk on Sunday, Sept. 24 at Zach's Bay, Jones Beach. Free prostate cancer screenings will be available on-site. Bring the whole family. The "Walk" will raise awareness about the importance of early detection, specifically digital rectal examinations in men over age 40 and prostate specific antigen blood tests in men over age 50, in saving lives. Registration begins at 9 a.m. followed by a program at 10:30 with well-known medical experts who will provide valuable information about prostate cancer. The "Walk" starts at 11:30 a.m. Bring your picnic baskets and enjoy the rest of the day at the beach - with refreshments and entertainment. You'll be surprised what a walk can do.
