Kenyan Winner of Women's Run in Farmingdale
For the second time in the space of a few weeks, Farmingdale was the host to a major sporting event on Saturday, July 8, as women from all over Long Island - and from places far away indeed from Long Island - converged on the Woodward Parkway Elementary School to compete in the 17th annual Vytra Health Plans Long Island Women's Run.

One Special Athlete
Among the highlights of the July meeting of the Greater Long Island Running Club was a special presentation to 13-year-old Deanna McDermott, who recently participated in her first wheelchair race - the fun run that preceded the Salomon Smith Barney North American Wheelchair Championship Race in Farmingdale earlier this summer.
