Violet M. Chieco died on July 4, 2000. Member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, WW II air raid warden, den mother, PTA member and served on the Board of Elections. Beloved wife of Vito. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Anthony, Barbara, Frank, Debbie, Carol and Craig Hecht. Dear sister of Frank and Edward Edberhardt. Cherished grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Interment Calverton National Cemetery. In Violet's memory, contributions to the Salvation Army would be appreciated. Mary Bollo, 89, of White Oak, PA (formerly of Bethpage, NY) died on July 5, 2000. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Victor (1990), and her parents, John and Margaret Lavin. Cherished mother of Michael and his wife, Dianne Krznaric Bollo. Loving grandmother of three. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, July 10, at St. Martin of Tours RC Church, with interment following in the Cemetery of the Gate of Heaven, Valhalla, NY. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. Robert Reed Stockbridge, age 89 of 632 Rice Cemetery Road, Anderson, SC, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000 at the home of his daughter, Kay S. Morrissey, Anderson, SC. Born in Flushing, NY on Aug. 21, 1910, he was the son of the late George and Grace Stockbridge. He was a professor at the State University of New York in Farmingdale and retired as head of the Agricultural Division in 1977. He was an advocate of the importance of strong public schools and served as a school board member in the 1950s. He was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts (BS) and Hofstra College (Masters of Education). He was a very active member of the Farmingdale Methodist Church in New York for several decades and attended St. John's United Methodist Church in Anderson for the past two years. He was a Mason, a Rotarian, and an Eagle Scout. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kay S. and J. David Morrissey, of Anderson, SC.; two sisters, Dorothy Onderdonk, of Wrentham, MA and Shirley McGourty, of Sandwich, MA; four grandchildren and their spouses, Kristin and Clint Steiert of Anderson, SC., Scott and Tamara Morrissey, of Pittsburgh, PA, Ginger and Robert Shirley, of Simpsonville, SC, Timothy and Katherine Morrissey of Greenville, SC; and six great grandchildren, Brittany Steiert, Blake Steiert, Alexandra Morrissey, Tyler Shirley, Jackson Morrissey and Tess Shirley. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary J. Stockbridge and second wife, Hazel O. Stockbridge.
The memorial service was held in the Chapel of St. John's United Methodist Church at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 6. Interment was at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale.
The family suggest that memorials be made to the Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
