Karl V. Anton, Jr., publisher and editor-in-chief of Anton Community Newspapers, died Saturday morning at his home in North Merrick with his wife Angela Susan Anton by his side. His death followed a short illness of cancer. He was 81 years old. FULL STORY

The Farmingdale Girls' U-8 Tournament Soccer Team split into two teams and competed at the Massapequa Father's Day Soccer Tournament. Each team was placed in a highly competitive division with five other teams from Long Island. Both teams finished with three wins and two ties and won their respective divisions. Avenging an early season loss to the Stixs, the Columbus Lodge defeated their opponent 20-15.
