The Farmingdale Village Fire Department would like to thank all the participants and spectators for their dedicated support in the Memorial Day parade. Each year the Farmingdale Village Fire Department organizes the parade to mark the day with dignity to remember those veterans who have died fighting for our country's freedom. The master of ceremonies was Farmingdale's ex-Chief Jeff Dillon, who took pride announcing the dedicated participants. Included in the line of march were Mayor Joseph Trudden and his board of trustees, Nassau County dignitaries, VFW-Post 516, East Farmingdale Fire Dept., South Farmingdale Fire Dept., many members of the local Boy and Girl Scouts of America as well as various community organizations to name a few. The parade concluded with services in the Village Green, where Mayor Trudden asked all to pause for a moment of reflection to honor the memories of those lost in battle.
