District Offers Up New Budget
Farmingdale residents will vote on a pared-down school budget when they go back to the polls on June 20. The Board of Education has eliminated more than $320,000 from its initial spending plan in their proposed $85,954,668 budget. The estimated property tax levy increase which was 6.98 percent is significantly lower. The board was able to make necessary cuts without severely affecting its new academic programs, say school officials.

Benefit for DWI Memorial
Hundreds of bicyclists gathered at the State University of New York at Farmingdale on June 4, for the Massapequa Park Bike Club's Annual Duathlon. This year, the organization chose to benefit the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) new Garden of Awareness DWI Victims Memorial being built on the campus in the fall.

Farmingdale PAL Girls Lacrosse Teams Continue Unbeaten Streak
The Farmingdale PAL Spirit, the division one third and fourth grade entry, played a mid-week inter-divisional crossover game last Thursday against one of the best division two teams, Wantagh-Seaford. The Spirit showed what an outstanding team they are with an 11-5 victory running their undefeated record to 6-0.
