Some have children going through the system and they want to make their District a better place for them. Others have lived in their community their entire lives and always continue to be part of their community, even when their children have moved on. Boy Killed in DWI Accident
A late night drive through East Farmingdale in a stolen car, became tragically unforgettable on May 9. Several young teenagers were in a stolen car with an alleged drunk driver. A 13-year-old boy died when the driver lost control and hit a tree.

Girls Win Basketball Championship
The "Jazz" of the P.A.L. intermediate girls division won the 1999-2000 basketball championship with a thrilling 20-19 win on April 14 played at Northside High School. The "Jazz" completed the regular season in first place with an 11-1 record and were 2-0, sweeping the playoffs capturing the championship.

Four PAL Girls Lacrosse Teams Remain Undefeated
This Saturday the PAL Farmingdale Spirit reached the halfway point of the season in the tough first division of the 3/4-grade rookie league as an undefeated team. The Spirit went out Saturday and played the tough Garden City Blue team, which was composed of all fourth graders and soundly beat them 11 to 6 to push their record to 4-0.
