After three fulfilling years as Editor of the Farmingdale Observer, it is with many fond memories that I announce my plans to leave the position to continue in a career in publishing in New York City. It has been a pleasure to work with the people of Farmingdale and surrounding areas, and I have been indelibly impressed by the deep roots and strong spirit of this unique community. I am confident that my successor, Phyllis Anne Kessler, an experienced community newspaper journalist, will enjoy a similar rapport with local folks. Some may have met her around town already, as she begins to delve into covering the area. I encourage those who haven't to reach out and introduce yourself to her, and help continue to make the Observer a newspaper that is closely connected to its hometown readers.
