This past winter, The Long Island Futsal League provided a season of soccer fun for the boys of the Farmingdale Under 9 soccer team. The players' passing and ball control skills were fine tuned, as they played futsal indoor league against other towns. The futsal ball is smaller and heavier than a standard #4 soccer ball. It must be kept inbound, on a hard wood floor. By the end of the season, Farmingdale was a team to contend with. The team extended special thanks to Chris Maghakian for playing goalie, and "making amazing saves throughout the season."
