This year's edition of the annual Winter Fun Run, co-hosted by the Greater Long Island Running Club and The Runner's Edge, broke all records for participation as over 300 runners took part in the Feb. 13 event.
The runners gathered at The Runner's Edge, located at 294 Main Street in Farmingdale for an 8 a.m. start on the morning of the 13th and had their choice of a 3-mile, 5.6 -mile or 9-mile route up Main Street to Bethpage and Round Swamp Road. Everyone then returned to The Runner's Edge where they were treated to coffee and bagels. Two pair of running shoes and two runner's' watches were given away as door prizes to lucky winners, courtesy of The Runner's Edge proprietor Bob Cook.
The club extended thanks to Cook and to Running Club Fun Run Chairman Sam Zinn for hosting a thoroughly enjoyable Sunday morning run for the local running community.
