The Farmingdale Fireballs played in the recent 17th annual East Islip Fall Classic held during Columbus Day weekend. The girls, who are all under 7 years of age, completely dominated their opponents during the weekend tournament. Astonishingly, the girls only gave up a single goal while scoring a total of 25, even though the girls were encouraged to pass up many more scoring opportunities in order to show good sportsmanship.

The Fireballs played very team oriented soccer in their games against Massapequa, East Islip and two games against Lindenhurst with the Farmingdale team displaying passing skills and spacing usually not seen in girls of this age group.

Each of them stayed in their positions, continually passing to the open player and converting their scoring chances. The girls who played for the Fireballs during this tournament were Katie Brosnan, Jordyn Hasemann, Danielle Lipari, Kiera Ochwat, Lilliana Kinney, Kayla Ernst, Amy Neuburger, Cara Fellin and Kelly McPartland. Coach Neuburger was extremely proud of the girls for their play during the weekend, especially on Sunday, when they played in a cold, soaking downpour. With their first game starting at 8 a.m. the girls had a two-hour wait before their second game began. Although the parents were cold and wet, not one girl complained about the weather, in fact they seemed to enjoy it.
